Task 2

29.04.2022 (Week 5)

We worked on the art direction this week, focusing on the mood board of the website.

For the color palette, we picked similar colors that are present in Wagas de Asi's existing logo.

Fig 1.3 - Color Palette (Gradient)

The colors are organic in a way, but also sophisticated. In the case that the website would look too dull or flat, the gradient colors can be used in the UI/UX.

We've also decided to add illustrations in the website. Some other websites have done that, and it looks nice. To keep with the 'organic' theme, I've looked up some illustration styles that I think would work with the website design.

Fig 2.3 - Pencil & Sketchy Illustration

These illustration style shows a more traditional/humbling approach. It's also attractive to both younger and older audiences.

For the typography, we chose Roboto Slab as the primary and secondary typeface because it has multiple type-families, so there are a variety of styles to choose from depending on what we want to emphasize. It's also a typeface that is preferred on the web due to it being on the more sophisticated side of serifs.

The web design itself we decided it should be simple and clear so it's easy to navigate through. It can tell the audience the company's vision and mission, share their stories, and educate people on the products that they produce. A website also gives room for different contents.

Fig 4.2 - Javara Website

As you can see, Javara used the sketchy illustration in their website and it looks seamless with the theme of the website.

We also thought of creating posters for the company to showcase it's products. The posters should have elements of nature, and shows the products clearly. Posters also provides an offline method of advertising the products.

Fig 5.2 - Posters References

Poster idea 1 (animated)
- Comparing Wagas de Asi's rice with other brands' rice
- Highlighting Wagas de Asi's healthy rice

Poster idea 2
- Show the heirloom rice's nutritional ingredients

06.05.2022 (Week 6)

An idea relating to the posters that we have is to make infographics informing people about the different types of heirloom rice that Wagas de Asi produces. We also wanted to highlight the differences between low-scale farmers and high-scale farmers rather than just compare health benefits.

Other than that, we've also thought of making an animated video to fully utilize the expertise of our animation student members. They've come up with two types of video ideas:
1. To help low-scale farmers
2. To show the top quality and health benefits of the heirloom rice
  1. Idea 1
    - Shows the product
    - Shows production process
    - Shows how and why the enterprise supports low-scale farmer

Fig 7 - Video Storyboard

The video starts with an image of a farmer harvesting rice from the paddy field and it zooms out to reveal multiple other images of farmers working in the field and they continue to zoom out so much the the images get so small, they look like grains of rice, and they slowly clump together to form sort of like a container and finally are wrapped in packaging that shows the bran's logo.

13.05.2022 (Week 7)

I wasn't able to attend today's class, but my group members have presented our ideations to Miss Lilian and Miss Eva. But according to my groupmates, everything seem to be on track. However, we were told to redesign the logo for the brand.
