Task 3

20.05.2022 - 27.05.2022 (Week 8 - Week 9)

Week 8 is Independent Learning Week so we didn't have class that week, but wee used the time to further refine our individual tasks.

Fig 1 - Video Process 1

Fig 1.2 - Video Process 2

My groupmate started on the video and sent us screenshots of the video to ask our opinions on it. For now it looks quite alright.

He also showed us a little demo of how the animation will look like.

Fig 2.1 - Logo Sketches

One of my groupmates liked 2 and 8, and another liked 1 and 5. I was given feedback to try decreasing the elements on the logo so that when it is in a small size, it is still visible.

Fig 2.2 - Logo Refinements

Fig 2.3 - Logo

The logo is of a hand sort of cradling a rice paddy to symbolize how the company pays their product great care. We limit the color palette to only 2 colors so it doesn't look too busy. I initially went with Trajan Pro as the typeface for the company name, but my groupmate told me to use Roboto Slab instead.

It was then pointed out that is we use Roboto Slab for the logo as well, it's going to be overused, as it's going to be exclusively Roboto Slab for the entire website itself. I also have to explore other colors.

Fig 3 - Posters

The posters aren't bad, but could still use some refinements, e.g. better mashing.

03.06.2022 (Week 10)

My groupmate has sent his progress on the animation video, but I couldn't upload it here because the file is too large.

Fig 4.2 - Logo Typeface Choices

Fig 4.3 - Logo Final

I've changed the logo color to a gradient gold instead of flat color to show more of a sophistication to the brand. The typeface is changed to Escritura Hebrew - Demi Bold for its wavy serifs and its sorta medieval-y look, giving it an organic vibe.

Fig 5 - Posters

The posters aren't bad per se, but the illustration style does differ from our initial art direction. If we were to go this vector-style route, we'd have to make sure everything else on the website follows this direction as well so it doesn't look lackluster.
